Default San Francisco Fishing

Hey all, I'm lucky enough to have a friend with family near San Francisco (Millbrae to be exact), and I am going to be spending spring break there starting 3/11. I was initially very excited because San Andreas reservoir is nearby but... its closed to fishing as are all reservoirs that supply water to the city. This being said, I'm still going to bring at least one fly rod. I was thinking bring either a 6wt or 8wt but was unsure. I was wondering if anyone has experience fishing in/ around the area. Thanks in advance for any input and tight lines!

Check out putah creek which is a tail water flowing out of lake berryessa 1.5 hours northeast of sf. I fished there in February about 8 years ago but check the regs out first. It might be closed now due to spawning rainbows. Back then it was open but they were contemplating a winter closure.i got skunked but it's a pretty river which I recommend if it's open. I'm pretty sure it's the best bet close to sf if it's open.
