The seacoast area offers a wide variety of fishing ranging from offshore for stripers, bluefish, and even bluefin tuna, along with a nice expanse of saltwater marsh fishing for stripers and blues, to some very nice trout streams, both big and small. Mix in some nice ponds and lakes for some bass, crappie, and bluegill action and we have fun for everyone from beginner to veteran fly anglers. Along with the saltwater fishing, which is excellent, there are also some "put & take" freshwaters available. Farmington is the hotbed for trout fishing in this region with the Cocheco, the Mad, and the Isinglass Rivers flowing through it. All three are good outings in the early part of the season. Ayers Lake in Barrington also contains cold water species and has excellent fishing at times.
