Hot Weather & Now Rain Make for Tough Fishing

We have been waiting for conditions to improve so that we could file a report but the hot weather and rain have blown out most of the rivers and tributaries in the area. If you can find clean water, the fishing should be good but we have had limited reports and several cancellations.
If you want to fish the rivers, focus on the headwaters. The rain has been very localized (10 inches in the past 5 days in Hanover!) so some areas are fishable. The headwaters of the White and Ottauquechee may be OK if they don’t see any rain in the next couple of days. Other than that, ponds and lakes are your best bet. Cooler temperatures will improve ebrything once the flooding subsides.
