Fish Early and or Catch the Outgoing says Captian Brett

As you would expect, clear sunshiny hot days on Joppa means more particular stripers. Water temperatures remain respectable under 70 deg. but that bright sun has made for some frustration. There are large pods of fish on Joppa rolling and spooking with the occasional eater. On the positive side, as we were motoring to the landing around noon we decided to take a ride up black rock creek when we noticed a couple of gulls arguing on the rivers edge along the grass. Upon further inspection we noticed that some decent stripers were foraging deep into the cuts. These guys were eaters unlike the ones burping on Joppa. Reminiscent of Florida back country fishing we took turns on the bow sight fishing. The wakes and occasional tail and dorsal show made for easy targets. It was incredibly exciting! (Don’t understand why I didn’t get a tip).
If you are fishing Joppa, fish early and or catch the outgoing.
