Whats the easiest way to access decent trout water on the sugar if your coming up 89 north from the south. Someone mentioned picking up Rt 103. Any suggestions appreciated.

Take exit 13 off 89 north onto Route 10 south. Follow 10 south to Newport Center. Watch for a left turn onto Route 11/103. The Sugar River will be on your right. Now someone more familiar with the river itself can tell you a few spots to try.

Fessiewig-that helps, however I'm traveling up from the south. Isn't there a lower exit off 89, I'm thinking exit 9 or 10 that takes you northwest up towards sunapee mountain.
Anyone else with suggestions?

You could, but it gets kinda complicated if you don't know the area.

Exit 9 puts you on 103 which if you can follow north into the lake...

To get easy access to the FF area, take exit 12 off 89. Follow rte 11 into Guild. Pick up 11/103 and go through Newport, heading east toward Claremont. The Sugar River crosses 11/103 a few miles east of Newport, and that is the downstream end of the FF area. There is plenty of parking space off Old Kellyville Road at the bridge, and a rail trail on the east side provides easy access. If you have a DeLorme Gazetteer, check page 33.

You can get off 89 further south, but it becomes a more difficult drive. "You can't get theyah from heyah" kind of thing.
