I have not bought anything except for tippet material (mirage is good!)
in years at orvis, but when I first started fly fishing I bought 2 orvis tridents one 9wght one 11. I have returned the 9 wght 3 times and the 11 once. I fish allot so stuff happens. I had a recent issue where I broke my 9wght, I just recieved a box from orvis with a new rod , T3 909-2, Tip Flex 10.0 this is a $525 rod! What a deal! I would never spend that kind of cash on a rod, the tridents where $250.00. I am tempted to sell it and just pick up another TFO, but my Tridents cast circle around my TFO. I fish from a boat and the extra 10ft i get from the orvis just does not make that much of a difference, except for maybe Bonita fishing. Looks like I am making up my mind as I write this.
