I have a 17" monitor and have to constantly scroll over the the right to read the entire post. Is this a monitor problem or the size of the bulletin board or :?:

Screen resolution is perfect for my eyesight.

Any ideas :?:

In order to fit the entire page on the screen, you'll need to set your resolution at 1024 X 768. That's pretty much standard for 17" monitors, but it sometimes requires more "mature" users (like me :( ) to wear reading glasses while on the computer.

Yeah, this is very annoying to me as well. I have my resolution set to 1024X768, and I still have to scroll to the right. I don't have to do this on any other forums unless someone has posted a large picture. This should be easy for the webmaster to adjust...

Roscoe,

Do you have a 17" Monitor? My monitor is 17" and I've set the resolution to 1024 x 768 and the forum fills the screen, but does not require any scrolling, except, as you said, if someone posts a large picture.

Edit - Something just occurred to me . . . . what browser are you using? The size of the window you view sites in differs in different browsers. I'm using IE6, for example. It also matters how you have the browser set up. In IE6 you can have a panel on the left side to do searches and other stuff which takes up window space. None of these things are under the control of the site designer and impact the viewing area considerably.

Hi Fess,

I have a 17" monitor and IE6, and yeah, if I close my favorites list on the left, then the forum text fills the whole screen without scrolling, but my point is that I don't have to adjust my screen to see everything on other web sites. Is there any reason it couldn't be a little narrower, to be like other sites?

Cheers,
Roscoe

Actually, I'm thinking there is a way we can set this thing up so it fits in the view portal (that's what they call it) regardless of the screen setting or monitor size. Give us a little time to check this out.

Kill the "favorites" or "bookmarks" listing on the left side of your screen. All the info will appear without having to slide left or right

Everything on the left is gone and I still have to scroll to read the entire page!

Been there done that! :D

Do me a favor - open the forum like you normally would, and then hit the Control button (ctrl) + the print screen button (PrtSc). Do this at the same time. This will copy a screen shot of your screen to the clipboard. Next, open any imaging software program (something that lets you create or edit pictures - you can even use microsoft word) - Create a new document, then paste the sceenshot in by pressing Ctrl + V (or clicking on paste). Save the document and email it to me - info@flyfishinginnh.com.

I will see what I can do for you....

Thanks,
Sean

I brought the "whole forum won't fit across my screen" issue a month ago in a post and someone suggested changing the resolution to 1024 x 768. I tried it and although it is definately a smaller type I think I like the clarity and print style better. And it did solve the problem for me.

I set the forum width to be 1000 pixels....

let me know if this seems alright.....

I now have to scroll. Personally, I liked it better with the "width="100%""

When I scroll all the way to the right, I lose some words on the left. I think you should return it to what it was set to originally and I will just have to settle with scrolling.

Thanks,
