Fessie I'm willing to host another getogether... However I'm waiting until after next week when I see an ortho guy about my thumb/wrist. About 6 weeks ago I did something to my right thumb that causes pain on movement. It isn't getting any better so I'm going to get it looked at. I wanted to get past some of bird season before they have at me.
It even has affected my casting! I was told by someone that I am now casting with my A$$ not my shoulder. So I plan to have them do whatever they need to to get me up to speed for fishing.
Once this is resolved I'll set something up for the first of the year.

Good idea! Take care of yourself. Besides, I was thinking sometime after New Years.

For the mere fee of a 2wt rod, I can show you some techniques to allow you to cast much better without affecting that sore thumb of yours...

Gosh Steve I really appreciate the offer. Your generosity is .... well I'm not surewhat it is
Seriously I was talking to someone today that wants to take up fly fishing. What do you charge for lessons? I'm hoping to make a SFT meeting soon. Did you get out bird hunting? I bumped in to Harry one day he had a good day.

I actually just got back from Dallas - business trip so I haven't made a SFT meeting yet either. I was able to cast a few flies to some supposed Largemouths in pond owned by Cabela's but to no avail.

We do have prices on the site but if it's a "friend" of yours....I'm sure we can work out "special" pricing....

No bird hunting yet...I haven't given up for the season though. Everytime I call Harry, he's always in the woods lately. I think it's funny that he answers his cell phone while he's hunting.

OK I have a date! January 27 is the only weekend I have open. This will be the 2nd annual unofficial fly tying get together.
Here are the rules:
1 THERE ARE NO RULES
Anyone is welcome to come we'll start tying around 09:00 and end @ 4:30. All skill levels welcome. If you've never tied before but are interested in learning come on over. If your an expert and willing to share your talent come on over. If your like me and more enthusiastic than skilled, again come on over. Sorry for the delay in picking the date but I broke my thumb back in October and finally got it looked at. Should be healed by then... it's way better now.
This is a good chance to put faces with screen names. The location is in Sanbornton. If interested send me a PM and I'll send you directions. Unfortunately, space wise we're limited to 10 tiers so the first 10 will be the ones if there are that many interested in coming. I'll provide coffee and we can send out for lunch or whatever. I look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.

Hi,

I doubt my other half will let me go. I start the winter fly tying class the following Monday. In her mind, the class is my allowance of fly tying get together. And with a 4 yr and a 5 mo. old - she is right. I will keep it on my calendar however, just in case something breaks. I am often scooting from Boscawen to Laconia and I cut through Hunkins pond road often.

Where in Sanbornton does this occur?

Great news I'll mark in to my things to do! I will try to do the no snow dance for that day :D Glad to hear your thumb will be on the mend for then. I'll try to get in touch with the other Dave  Hopefully we've got enough help to cover for me.

Can anyone tell me where Sanbornton is? How far from WRJ, VT.? I have the day off but will be playing music tonight up north and I don't think I can be up and at it early in the morning. So, if it is no more than 1 hr from WRJ, VT I would enjoy stopping in. I will even bring my vise.

I am another 30 min north west of of WRJ. If you send me directions and a Tel# I will try but the wife has already begun making plans for me like the dump run. I really would enjoy meet people. I should have checked the fly tying section sooner. My error.

What are you guys tying anyway?

Thanks for coming over. I've got some great new flies and even better some new patterns to try. And I think best of all, some loose plans for us to get together and fish.

Had your wifes coffe cake for breakfast this morning. It was delicious. I'm going to order some wool today and tie up a bunch of damsel nymphs. Thanks for making the 2 1/2 hour drive to join us.

Dick
Good to hear you want to do this again. I sent you a pm in December and didn't hear back so I thought you weren't interested. I finally finished the room this fall so sure let's do this. I've teaching an EMT-I class and have had almost no time for the past several months. Would early March work for the usual suspects? Send me a PM if your interested
