Opening Day

Who else is heading out on friday?? Has anyone else checked out any of the lakes and seen what areas have some open water to wet a fly?

Not Friday. I have to work and I don't consider the fishing this time of year good enough to warrant taking a day off, but not much longer and you'll be able to tempt me. :D

I plan to go out late friday afternoon in the neoprene waders at the mouth of a brook where it dumps into Winni. There is precious little open water anywhere. The ice is still pretty tight to the shore. Hell, there where trucks driving around on the ice a week ago.
I'll go out just so I can say I did and greet the new season. Expectations are low, but you never know......
