No, no, no....not the sort of experience I seek. Been somewhere like there, done something like that, won't be doing it again.

I'm guessing "combat fising" in NY or Alaska...I guess the most important thing is that it's NOT here in NH :!: :!:

I would guess Michagan, my father many years ago brought back pictures of guys fishing a river for Salmon (don't know what type) and it was just as crowed.
My only question is WHY would you put yourself through that.

I took a drive yesterdayDown RT 31 to take a look at the Souhegan and it is roaring through Greenville and Wilton. It is certainly ice free but based on the rains that are supposed to be here on Saturday I can't imagine it being fishable for at least a week. There is still a lot of Runoff. Lots of small stream flowing into it that I have never seen wet before. Also drove out to Willard and Dublin Lake...both still solid ice. I have never fished Dublin L. and I know there was some discussion of it on another post. It appears that there is very limited parking at the little Boat Launch on the west side of the lake- maybe 2 cars in the "parking permitted between signs" roadside spots. Are there some good caddis or even Mayfly hatches on Dublin?? It is a beautiful spot right under Monadnock. Just wondering if anyone has fished it and if it's worth bringing the canoe over.

Thanks Squaretail for the info in the the Souhegan. I was going to drive over this weeknd but it sounds too rough to fish. Maybe Fessiewig will chime in on this. I know he's fished the Dublin Lake years ago.

We're having a "gathering" at Dublin, May 14th. You'll be able to wade, float (tube), or boat. Although I'm more familiar with Dublin in the fall, the spring fishing can be awfully good as well.

I will tell you exactly where that is at.

Opening day.... Loks more like an invasion!!

I'm glad I don't have to swim through that gaunlet!! Does a roachcoach pull up to that place and sell power bait at 9:30 AM?

I usually fish it over in Milford, because it's close. If you look at the streamflow map, when the gauge station is Merrimack is at or above 400 cfs, it gets pretty difficult to wade. Earlier this week it was over 2400, right now it around 1700. NOAA is calling for a "hydrological event" this weekend (flood warning), the Nashua River hit new high in Pepperall, so if we get the 2-5 inches of rain this weekend, we may not be fishing until the end of the month.
