I "road tested" a Native Water Craft 12' Ultimate today. I put my brittany CJ in it and paddled around for 20 minutes or so. I'm not sure I would stand up to fish in it but it seems very stable. It is also the most comfortable kayak I have sat in. It seems well thought out and set up. Orvis sells it for $1600 with the spray skirts ($170) and a paddle. I paid $725 and got $72.50 in free accessories. Much more affordable. CJ seems to like it. It's a little crowded with him in it but I like the short length for portability rather than go with the 14' double. Now I have to start clearing out boats. I'm giving my old kayak to my son in law and I guess I'll sell the mahogany jon boat I built last year. Hopefully mama won't notice the new boat. FAT CHANCE!!
Tomorrow I'm going to fish out of it at Silver Lake
