I spent a few hours at the Greenbelt Reserve last night, down in Essex, MA. Got into a few fish, the biggest being about 20 inches. Unfortunately, while backcasting a clauser in a heavy wind, my fly hit my rod and popped off the tip 3 guides down. I wasn't a happy camper. I bailed shortly afterwards, plus the tide was higher than normal, so it was a sloppy walk out.
It is a pretty nice spot, right where the Essex comes in. The walking can be a bit dicey with the channels in the sea grass, so I recomend being out before the sun goes down.
Great night to be on the water though, I expected the sloon that was forecasted and was suprised by a nice warm sunny night.
Anyway, the rod is being sent back today, hopefully I'll have it before the the stripers are down for the summer.
