I do not buy extended warrentees on anything because I know that someone is making a few bucks on me: with one exception. Yes you guessed right; I am about to get my third new digital movie camera in two years because I paid about $50.00 for a no questions asked policy. If you drop it in the water, you have to (of course) retreive it to get a new one. Fixing one usually costs more than replacing it.

I feel your pain. As I was reading your post I was trying to take my digital camera apart after a dunking this weekend. Of course the day after the dunking I hooked into another huge swift water rainbow and have no proof  .
This camera has survived 2 previous dunkings though and am hoping for a third. I find if you take them apart and let them thoroughly dry for a few days they will usually fire back up, but you have to immediately take them apart before corrosion sets in. Unfortunately for this camera I have one screw that has rusted, stripped, and am unable to get out.
I will look for a decent waterproof case and if i find one I will let u know.

Hi, I know what you are talking about, I have already had to dry my cam out a few times. My wife is an AT thru hiker and carries a Kodak all weather proof. I have one for fishings and after it has been in the water for a short times, I will take the batteries out and leave the battery door open to let it dry out. I have been very lucky with it because it is still working great after falling in the water twice. Good IDEA on getting the warrenty.
Good Fishing to All,
