Hey guys, twas a great weekend indeed. I am already missing the salt as I sit here in boring old Franklin Mass, (Although I am planning on hitting up a secret large mouth bass local this evening). Nothing will compare to that 25" striper though, damn! Moved out of Dover for good yesterday afternoon and the rents came up to help me pack. I couldn't resist showing my dad "THE SPOT", he has never caught a striper in his fifty eight years on this planet and I was determined to change that. We dragged my poor mother with us, on her birthday non-the-less. So it would be a quick jaunt and a few casts. I made the smart move of handing my spinning rod/sluggo settup to my dad and left my fly rod in the van. I made a b-line to a spot that was very productive this weekend and had my dad casting in no time, spent some time showing him how to work the sluggo faster for the salt. Kept moving along and I spotted a fish rise off in the distance moved dad into place and had him casting again. I kept scouting and saw another rise. When I looked back I saw my dad's rod bend and then go limp. "Had one" he said causally, (my dad never seems unusually surprised when he gets a hit, I guess he has that much confidence in my guiding). Dad kept fishing this spot until finally I convinced him to move on, soon he got bored and told me to take a few casts. I couldn't help myslef and obliged. I hopped over to where I had seen the second fish rise, two casts nothing, third cast BAM, big hit, then gone. Fourth cast, first jerk...FISH ON. As I hooted and hollered my father ambled over shaking his head, muttering, "I can't believe you". I Landed this fish, a small striper, and handed the rod back to my father. Now he fished with renewed confidence and a slightly tweaked retrive. Got him casting in my hot spot, and, as if scripted, the fish hit. Seeing his rod bend and the drag squeal made my heat race faster than any fish I have caught this summer. And so my father landed the first striper of his life, my mother was able to scramble close enough for a picture, and we were able to get out before the killer mosquitos hit. As we walked along the beach, under the orange glow of a summer sunset, the pangs of leaving my college home made my heart ache. But then my heart lifted at the thought of starting fresh in another wonderful environment, Mount Washington Valley here I come!

To my fish crew:
(Solid and The Imposter)

It has been an amazing summer, beginning on the fourth with Eric's monster, and ending this weekend with multiple feeding frenzies. I would love to come up and fish this weekend but I have to take a teacher test on saturday in Berlin NH. I am planning to do some fishing up north if anyone is interested. I hope to make it up to hit the salt at some point either this summer or this fall, (perhaps the weekend of the 11th). In the meantime may all your fish stay on and may some be keepers.

Cheers,

Natefish

Good stuff dude.
Just increase the gas budget. I think I am really going to miss dodging your clouser. More fish for us Eric.
