After work trip with the Imposter (AKA Harry ). Launched from the Sharaf’s building, worked are ways out of the Mystic to the Haba proper.
Small craft advisory offshore today, the Haba could have used one as well. It was super rough, Chopy 2-4ft with Boat wakes making some 5-6ft! Windy to, Really Windy.
I have heard the peanuts are moving so I went to my usual spots looking for the big surface feeds, with the rough conditions nothing was up. Fished a few structure spots along the way. Finally one of my spots Paid off, Acres of Birds and Fish.

You could catch a Blue Fish Everycast, On Anything! We tried Fishing underneath them for the Clean Up Crew that usually is around ( Big Bass) but could not get through the blues. Caught them on everything, Flies plastics and metals. The flies were tough as the drift was super fast, had to hand over hand retrieve funny fish style. Got the job done, Use of Cortland toothy critter cut done of fly loss big time, caught fish till all there was left of my clouser was the eyes. We tried to see what they would not hit. 1” Nub of a slug go’ was killer, if it moved they would eat it.
No Surprise, In the Big Blue heydays of the 80’s I caught Bluefish on Socks and Beer cans , using steel leaders and Single hooks
The Weird Catch of the night was a nice Shad; He must have had a death wish. If I was small and silver the last place I would go for a swim would be in a giant school of Bofish!
