Fly tying Section?

Hi guys, just signed on..never fished NH but you never know!!

I was looking at the fly tying section where the sizes of hooks are listed but also the size of a fly. Example Size 3 Streamer.

What does that size thing indicates??

3 is not the size. The sizes are immediately to the left of that number. 3 indicates the number of different sizes suggested.
