I just signed on with a new 13 part series to be hosted on the Sportsman Channel either in the 4th quarter of '05 or the first quarter of '06. We are busy getting ready to finalize our filming schedule and included will be at least 3-4 fly fishing trips here in NH. I am looking for some suggestions, as well as possible guests for the shows. I guide and fish the Lakes Region as well as the northern rivers (Pemi, Andro, Upper Conn).
Would love to film on some small picturesque ponds. If you have some suggestions let me know and who knows you might end up on TV!

ps: we had a turkey hunt scheduled for May 16th that has been cancelled- anyone out there with a classic (fields) turkey hunt area that we can film on?

I would consider trying one of the remote ponds in the White Mountains - Although it would not be easy to get to as they are hike in, it would be quite picturesque, particulary in the fall...

In line with Sbeausol said, Sawyer Pond off of Rte. 302 in Hart's Location is about as picturesque as it gets. It is not too difficult or long a walk in from the access road. I haven't been there in a few years but it's great with a float tube.

Beautiful I agee bmk. However I get sick of that boring stuff. Too much like Charlie Moore and bass.
I am headed in to gods country tomorrow.
There nothing more eciting than 50 500lb, fish busting the surface gorging them selves on Bluefish.

Thanks guys- Sawyer Pond is on the list as are several other WMNF ponds. I'd love to find a good brown trout spot, one that would produce some fish inthe 16-20 inch size.
As for the Blue Fin Tuna--if I could get them on a fly rod I'd be all for it!

Keep the suggestions coming-- and please no references to Charlie M- he has done more to hurt the image of fishing.

In all seriousness I'd do at least one show wading/surf fishing with the flyrod for striped bass and blues.

Do a river Smallmouth Bass show...

A warmwater pond show (poppers, clousers etc...)

If it's 06 I can set you up where you need to be... and almost will bet I break the state record smallie on film!

A decent spot for the possibility of big browns would be the Pemi in bristol and maybe the Conn River in Pittsburg (I think that is where the state record came from)....

Thanks- I fish the Pemi all the time in Bristol and have spent quite a bit of time up on the Conn above Lake Francis. We will be filming the Atlantics down in Bristol real soon!

JS Any chances of doing any of my suggestions or are you keeping the show limited to trout and salmon?

What about the Contoocook or better yet, the Sugar?

Bugchucka- We have filmed the stripers last year in the Merrimack and will be doing a show off of Nantucket. As for smallies- I will get some footage on Umbagog and also below the dams in gorham in August. Not sure if the bass will make the cut to a show. We primarily fish for adipose finned fish. Not too many sponsors left who want to jump on board the smallmouth fly fishing bandwagon. Most of the fly fishing sponsors concentrate primarily on the trout. I wish there was a market for footage of sucker fishing- I caught some huge suckers last week on some of the Lake Winni tributaries!

I can't speak from personal experience, but I've heard from several people that the best place in the state for big brown trout is the eastern part of the Androscoggin from Gorham to the Maine Line.
