I am planning on a camping/fishing trip this weekend and was wondering how far north the black flies have made it. I plan on camping just north of the black flies

Anybody have some info on those flesh eating pests?

It is going to be a baaaaad spring and summer for black flies and mosquitos. I was getting chewed up pretty good in New Boston last week until I doused with deet. There is standing water everywhere in the woods- perfect breeding grounds for the little S&%#S. Anyone have good luck with the pre-treated, insect repelling, clothing Beans and Cabellas sell now?? Sounds almost too good to be true.

The orvis brand "BUG OFF" has been very popular, I have heard alot of people swearing by the stuff, I plan on buying the hat in a few weeks...

The Lakes region is still black fly free. Of course there has been no sun yet. Happy camping
