This is an old account of salters. This clip is from an online version of Bigelow and Schouder which is still to this day a valuable resource for the Gulf of Maine.
The focus of this book was based mostly around the fishes of the open Gulf, so they didn't expend much effort on Brookies. But much of the information given here and combined with other sources paints a useful picture.
