Found this report while surfing around different sites. Don't know how old it is, could be several years. Good stuff anyway.
(Hope nobody considers this a 'spot burn'.)
Rye fisherman Dave Dawley said to not sell the Berry Brook, sea-run, brown trout short! He just called me. “Just got back from Berry Brook. Took (caught and released) another big brown around four pounds on a rainbow smelt pattern streamer fly!” “Last week some smelt fishermen were doing well on the Seavey Creek Bridge (which Berry Brook is a tributary of). They were catching the smelt on Sabiki Rigs but they got the surprise of their lives when a huge brown trout came up and smacked a smelt that they were just pulling in! Needless to say, that the big trout got away as the hooks on those rigs are definitely not big enough for that sized fish.” Dave suggests that you fish the areas both up and downstream from the Pine Tree Bridge at Brackett Road in Rye for the sea-run browns.
