Anyone chase any of the Granite States big crappie? I'll be up North in a couple weeks and was thinking of hitting Pine River Pond or Balch Pond - I've tied up some "Calico Clousers" that the crappie jump on down here in southeast Mass - great fun and good eating too! Tight lines, Alec

I do quite a bit of Crappie fishing here in Maine, but as much as I love it I am not going to drive somewhere to do it. Try this fly:

head: gold tungsten bead
tail: white marabou with pearl flashabou
body: pearl bill's body braid
rib: olive heavy wire
thread white 6/0
hook: long shanked 6-8 wet fly hook
Good luck!
