Has anyone tried Tim Rajeef's (sp?) Echo Rods?
I am looking for a decent, inexpensive rod for my cousin and wonder how these compare to TFO Professional Series?
Thanks, Dave

I've seen them advertised, but don't any thing about them.
However, earlier this spring, I did pick up a Cortland Brook rod. I wasn't looking at the line, but was shown one and it a sweet ride, as the kids say. I think it just came out this spring.

I know the Bear's Den has been recommending them over the TFO's.

I did get a chace to try out the TFO "Finesse" rod over the winter. Darn near bought it, except I was nervous about those "spigot" ferrules, where they are put together. Just too new a fangle idea for me, and I hearit's been in use for about 20 years.

Don't ever worry about spigot ferrules. I've been using spigot ferrules on my Scott Rods since the early to mid 1970's. I've broken plenty of rods...but never because of a spigot ferrule. Many manufacturers claim (??) that spigot ferrules give the blank a much greater sensitivity because of the internal ferrule...but to be truthful I've never noticed that to be the case.

I am relatively new to Fly Fishing. Just snagged up a TFO TiCr X, it was the first time I have even seen spigot ferrules. I thought it was a bad rod :) But I hit the internet super highway and realized I was a rookie. I used it on the Took Sunday for its maiden voyage. Went awesome, cast so smooth I spent a lot of time admiring my casts and not enough time with the line in the water. I was very happy with the purchase. There warranty can’t be beat as well. No fault $25 send it in and get a new one or repaired.

Not a bad warranty, pretty much the same as Cortland. Lifetime/$25.00/repair or replace. I use a double taper on the 3 wt I bought. I for sure thought I couldn't cast a darn w/ it, but it worked out great! I can cast farther than I ever thought with it. Good luck with your new purchase.
