The streams around my house in Concord - which still had strong flows from the spring runoff just two weeks ago - now have water levels lower than last year at this time. We need rain bad and it looks like we're gonna get it today. Let's hope we get some "good soaking rain."

Dan I have noticed the same thing. I fished the Mac last Sunday by canoe North of Concord and went back this Thursday and it had come down a lot. The positive thing has been the temps at night have slowed the water from warming up more than it has. I picked up a few nice browns on the Contoocook where it flows into the Mac on Thursday. We need a long stretch of rain not these T-storms to change things. I wonder what shape the Androscoggin and the Connecticut River are in up North.

The Connecticut is low in and out of Pittsburg, because the dam flows are low. I was there earlier this week.
2nd Lake was at 92
1st Lake was at 101
Murphy was at 200
It was difficult fishing early in the week, and cold. The stocking truck rolled in on Wednesday. The fish were getting pretty stressed with all the catchin' and releasin' on Wednesday night and Thursday.

After they stocked on Wednesday, the river was hit hard. On Thursday, the Judges and Jury Box pools were a fish on every cast. Several of the fish had to have been caught several times. I stopped by the logging bridge, and it was as crowded as I have ever seen it. In fact, I sort of tromped my way through the middle of the pool at one point, to try and spread out the fish. (It didn't seem to work).
And, a very rare sight indeed, I actually kept a fish for the broiler.
