I recently graduated from college and moved to Exeter. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on local fresh water spots (feel free to e-mail: eanderson@nec.edu).

I was also wondering how far is tidal and how far stripers are going up the Squamscott River? How close to the center of Exeter can I fish for them and/ or where are some good locations to access the river?

I know this is a pretty loaded post requesting a lot of information, but any amount of information will be greatly appreciate and I will do my best to return the favor.

Thanks a lot everyone!

Eric

For answerers to your Salt Water questions check out the posts in the Salt Water Forum. I believe I saw some posts on this subject recently. :)

There are plenty of fresh water spots to fish aruond the Exeter area. The Exeter river at Pickpocket dam(Exeter/Brentwood line) is probably the closet place for trout. There is also the Lamprey and the North rivers which have good places to fish their entire length. Check out your gazzeteer, most of the major rivers and streams have trout in them. As far as the stripers go, they come as far as the dam in Exeter and usually only for a short period of time coinciding with the alewive run.

thanks for the info!

When I get a chance to get out I will post any results.

I am also going to keep a watch on the saltwater discussions.

Thanks again,

Eric
