Capt.
I have a A-5 5106, (10' 6 Wght.) I have not used it for steelhead.
I love this rod , it is a light weight high performance rod and casts like a rocket. Throws a 250gr a mile. Great for windy still water conditions or a big river. But , I don't think it would be a good steelhead rod. You want a rod with a soft tip for steelies, you don't need a nice casting rod you need a long rod that can lob your indicator and shot a good way's but with a soft enough tip to protect down to 6X (4lb).
I have a 10' TFO Pro Series 6,8 for Salmon and steelhead, Heritage is another popular one. Both are right around $200

My budy brought up a nice Orvis trident for salmon , he broke fish off with lite tipet and then when he hooked up with heavy tipet the rod exploded. High performance rods are not the best up there. I would be using one of these if they came in 10'!
