I have some family coming out from Wisconsin and they want to do a private charter. We've gone out of Newburyport the last few years and were somewhat dissapointed. We basically just floated up and down the mouth of the Merrimac. There will probably be 5 of us in total. Fly fishing for stripers is out although I may try to sneak out with just my brother-in-law for a morning of that. Anyone know of a good charter that we could check out. We could do an in-shore or off-shore trip.
Thanks,
ken

I would give the Kittery TP a call or maybe Eldgredge Bros. Better yet, take them to the Cape: capecodcaptains.com ! I bet he'd give you a deal and I'm sure the fishing would be "explosive"!
So much for the clipped fin thing. Did you find anything out about the stocking this year?

Check out Captain Brett. He has several Salt Water fishing reports posted under our REPORTS section (above). Check out a report and you'll find links to him.

Hey Ken - sorry seeing this late. If you're still planning, I can recommend Dave Burkland, he fishes out of Great Bay Marina in Newington and seriously knows the Piscataqua and surrounding waters. He kept us on fish ALL morning. I think he may also go out to the Shoals, weather & fishing permitting. Good guy too (he works with my husband). His number is 603-494-3470.

Ooops, just re-read your post. Not sure Dave can accommodate 5. Call him. Another option, if you want to go further offshore & you're into cod & haddock, is to charter with Bill Wagner. Not sure if he's still at Great Bay or at the Port Authority. 603 463-9028. He can take quite a few, but he books up pretty fast for the best times. If you still need more, I know quite a few!
