The New Hampshire State Fly Casting Championship will take place this year at the Deerfield Fair. The event is brought to you by Jake Jakespeare and the Mountain Road Fly Shop.
All flycasters are invited. Prizes will be awarded from a drawing of all flycasters entered in the event. There is no cost to participate in the "shootout".
Practice your double haul and come show us what you got. All casters will cast the same rod which will be supplied by Jake.
This event is the first of it's kind in our state and we hope to promote our sport and have some fun.
I will post updates about the event and details soon. Stay tuned!!

Interesting: there is also going to be a NH Fly Casting Competition up north in late summer using the ESPN Great Outdoor Games and OLN Fly Fishing Masters casting course with distance, vertical and horizontal targets, and a drift and obstacle course.

Oops!~ I should not have used the word course! The course is the different events of the competition and not to be confused with a certification course. The plan is to use the same events that are used in the ESPN and OLN fly casting competitions of which I have participated in the past. By the way neither OLN(Fly Fishing Masters) or ESPN(Great Outdoor Games) are sponsoring fly casting/fishing competitions this year. Both were under scrutiny by some elitist fly fishing groups the past 2 years and they have bowed to pressure. Having competed I can tell you that the event only gave exposure of the sport to more people and the fishing end of the competition put "no" pressure on the resource! Anyways, stay tuned and I will give more details to the this event as it becomes organized.

No Rick - no problem. I was just curious that's all. FFF has made it a logistical nightmare to get a CI cert. so I thought if you had the appropriate people there we could do it. Could both you and Tom keep us all up to date on your respective events? These are the types of events we need in this state. Thanks!

I am meeting tomorrow to discuss the venue logistics. Will post more specifics as they materialize. Agree FFF can be very logistically trying!
