On Maines biggest beach this morning.Saw two different schools busting on bait just outside the breakers.Didn't get any as they moved fast(I was on foot) and I couldn't keep up.But they're finally showing!

I was out tonight and the last couple of days. Went from a 12 lb bluefish to nothing. Tonight I was out at the Subnets and nothiung going on. On the shore of FF I saw some birds working close to shore, I went over and took a couple out of there then it died all the way back home.
I will be solo tomorrow so if anyone wants to join me let me know fast. It might be ok.

I was on the coast tonight and Monday. Man, bait is everywhere. Hopefully, it's shaping up to be a great fall run. I'm hitting Plum island this weekend. I'll report back.

Hit Plum Island north end briefly yesterday afternoon two hours before low ( 12:30 PM ). Five guys fishing; 3 spinning, 1 fly rod and 1 bait. Bait guy got 6 schoolies; others got zero. Water still dark from big rains. No sight of fish or birds.

Salter,
I was out with the family on Hills beach back in August. Found zero stripers, but lots of blues. As I was out tooling around in the kayak, massive fish were taking to the air, flying almost directly up. It wasn't a school, just a solitary fish now and then. Any idea what they were? Closest I was to one was about 100 yds, and it had to have been 4 feet long.

I've arranged an escape from the medico's for the first part of next week. Plan to head up to THE BEACH. What's the opinion, worth the 1 1/2 hr. dr? Having lived most of my life on the coast I know there are no Gaurentees. Just educated guesses.
