I'm heading up to the Androscoggin on Sunday for a nice little outing. I was planning on heading up toward Errol. Does anyone have any recommendations. Thanks

Almost anywhere in the 13 mile stretch south of Errol is worth a try. Everything from pretty fast rapids, to pocket water behind boulders to slow deep runs is available. You can see most of it from the road and the pull outs kind of dictate the popular spots. Where and how you fish the Andro really depends on the flow coming out of the dam in Errol. One suggestion I have for you is to pull into the Mollidgewock campground and stop at the gate house and tell them you're just fishing for a while. I've never had a problem getting in and there is a good 1/4 mile of river that is pretty wadable as long as they're not dumping too much water.
Should be getting close to the Zebra Caddis (Alder Fly) Hatch. Usually it takes place the last week in June. I've never hit it during it's peak but I understand that it's an amazing fishery as the trout gorge themselves on these bugs. Good Luck!

With the water running at 5000 CFS (less than 2000 CFS is fishable) I'd bring a life preserver!

Yep, we cruised up there anyway and it was almost as high as I have ever seen it. Turned around and fished the Ellis river with some sucess. Caught a couple small brookies. Nice day.

Lowered to 3600 late on the 20th. Still probably in the top 10% of flows for this date over the last 100 years.
