hey, we talked very early on about getting into this area to fish. Is anyone still up for it? I could do a day trip up and back and we could bring the bikes to get in and do some exploring.

Let me know.

I am interested in finding out more about that fishery, although I am not sure when I can make it up there.... Can you comment on either your experience or expectations in regard to the fishing/access. I am always up for an adventure, just wondering what to expect....

let me know what you think!

I've never fished there and vowed to myself a few years back to try new places every year. Honestly, it wouldn't really matter if we caught fish as half the fun is getting there and exploring. Perhaps half of the day is spent fishing the river remote ponds and the other part is spent on the Andro or Magalloway. ( I like that idea Blake). I've also vowed to use my 3 wt more and the DD sounds like a great spot for it.

I have to check the kids soccer schedule at home but a Saturday or Sunday would work best for me.

I'd join ya in a heart beat except for the fact I can't walk long distances. Have you guys tried Nash Stream?

Hey, I'm up for it any weekend except July 30. I've explored quite a bit in that neck of the woods (we used to stay at the Magalloway Inn before it burned and they built the camps) and it's one of my all time favorite areas. While you're there you've got to see Hell Gate and imagine the log drives through there.

Given that it is part of the Andro Watershed is it safe to assume that it has some simlilar characteristics to the other rivers up there (Magalloway, Rapid River)? Maybe similar insects, water temps, water quality? I am interested no matter how difficult the access... my only problem is finding the time to go.

Sean,

I'll right you a permission slip! I'll make a suggestion w/ regards to the date when I get home later and look at the calendar. We can carpool up or meet at a spot and then go from there.

Ken-
I'm up for it but I can't get away till the third weekend of August. Did you ever get the Mt. Bike Rod holder? Last time I was in Tom's shop he had some left. Between getting fish made for the Rangeley Sidewalk Art Show, wedings, and family stuff my summer is booked up till mid August.
Let me know!!!

Paul,

Maybe we make it an August trip as that would probably work better for me too. I did get the bike rod holder from Tom's shop and it works well. Much better than strapping the rod to the handle bars.
