I am heading up to fish the Pemmi around N.Woodstock on Thursday and Friday and was wondering how the water conditions were? Also, how are the water conditions on the Ammonoosuc R. in the Carrol/Bethleham area? Thanks!

The Pemi and the Ammonoosuc are both low and warm. Water temps are in the high 70's to low 80's by mid-day. Best to fish either river from sunrise til about 8:30. Evening fishing can stress the fish too much. Here are some patterns you might want to try: DRYS - Caddis #14-20 (tan, brown, black, olive, insect green), Light Cahill #12 & 14, BWO #18-24, Isonychia #10-14 NYMPHS - Zugbug #10-14, Hares Ear #12-20, Pheasant Tail #12-20 OTHERS - Muddler Minnow #8-12 (standard, yellow, yellow marabou, white marabou), & Stimulator #6-10 (Yellow & Orange)

Fished the Pemi near Woodstock this morning with a client. Water temperature was 66 degrees and fish were concentrated in the faster, more oxygenated water. Client took rainbows early on wooly buggers and as the morning progressed we used stimulators and caddis and madam x's. We fished these downstream like streamers twitching them just under the surface to produce strikes. Client landed 15+ rainbows from 13-17 inches and 10 small ( 6 inch) salmon. Did not see any, and I mean any, hatches.
Hope this helps. Off to the Andro with the drift boat tomorrow.

Fished the Pemi, south of Eastman Falls Dam in Franklin with SaltH2o at first light Saturday morning. We got a mix of Rainbows and Smallies. Water was fairly fast, waist high and deeper there. I took a thermo reading and it was 70 by the time I thought of it. We saw an Osprey fly over our heads with a fish in it's talons - pretty cool. I guess no one told him that was the catch and release only section.

Fish the Pemi a week ago just below the Rt 49 Bridge. Between the 3 of us we caught about 30 Brookies all in the 8 - 10" range. Lost just as many.

Due to the very hot weather and changes in my schedule, i did not make it up to the Pemmi. I hope to get up there in the next couple of weeks. Thanks again for your advice!
