The date has been set for the 1st Annual NH Fly Casting Championships-Saturday September 17th. The place of the event will be announced after I ink the contract but it will be at a first class resort!
Events will include a minimum of 8 stations:(fly rods will be provided so that all contestants will use the same rod set up- as of now I can tell you it will be a 5 weight 9 foot rod).
Tentative events:
distance
vertical hoops
dry land targets
obstacle targets
on the water roll casting
on the water targets
on the water drift course (pending approval)
There will be several categories for competition including:
individual open class
women's class
senior class (over 55)
2 person team class
Prizes will include trophies/plaques and the individual winner will receive a soon to be announced high end fly rod, t-shirts to all registered contestants.
Registration forms and rules will be available next week on a special website for the event.--Stay tuned!
We will be soliciting contestants throughout the state and hope that this event will be the start of a great annual event!
