Hi,
I've been a freshwater fly-fisherman for 15 years and have never really spent anytime fly-fishing on saltwater. A friend of mine is into the heavy tackle thing and he has brought me out of the cape trolling and jigging for stripers quite a few times over the last two years. I must admit, it is a great time but I have finally decided that I am going to invest in some gear to fly-fish while I am out there. I think it likely that most of my striper fishing will happen in open water on a boat. I recently picked up a 9 / 10wt Albright ( during the closeout sale last year). Can anyone give me some advice on line / leaders and maybe even technique for fishing stripers onopen water? SHould I get a sinking line? what type of leaders?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Clay

There is a really good thread going already on this subject.

I would read through that and post questions there.

It would be helpful and nice if someone could make a sticky of that
http://flyfishinginnh.com/vforum/showthread.php?t=3868 (http://flyfishinginnh.com/vforum/showthread.php?t=3868)
and put it in this "Saltwater Section".

Just a thought.
