I'd be interested in you confidentially answering the following question;

If you could do it all over again, would you....

I am only 25 so I don't quite qualify, which is why I won't vote; however I I feel that a healthy moderation of work, family fun and fishing seems to be the best thing going. That being said, I did a lot of oat sowing, throwing and pounding until about 24 years old. I think that is what allows me to keep it mellow now.

I'm assuming everyone is working, retired, or on the mend from accidents. Why would anyone vote work harder? No matter whatwe do for a living, I hope there are no "slackers" out there.

not quite 40 yet but my passion is fishing and hunting , i am by no means a slacker but have postioned my self in a trade that pays very well and gives me enough to make it in the world, i am fortunate to have mini vacations threw out the year (layoffs) that allow me to enjoy my family and friends, as i get older things change for me and i look for things that bring me peace inside, like helping a friend , fishing , hunting or just taking a nice long walk in the outdoors. at times stressful but when that time comes i grab my rod and stand in a river and the stress seems to float away down stream with every cast i make!!!

School is important; my biggest regret was not taking a traditional route to education. I left high school to work, and then ended up going back and playing catch up going part time, continued like that through college. This is one of my biggest regret. Financially all worked out in the end but it could have been allot easier. For sure

Why, what's wrong with that comment? I'd have to agree with him on this one!

I didn't learn to ask myself "what are you waiting for" early enough in life.

You ever find the answer to that question? I still don't know what or why I am waiting....

Worked harder at fishing and started sooner with a fly rod.
Don't ever miss the chance to fish some one you care about. I blew it 3 times and one was with my Dad.
Hate hearing "Should've,could've" Lifes too short.
Headed for Montana for some fishing this August, starting the bucket list!LOL

Casey,

All kidding aside, I had a health scare in my mid-20's and ever since then I've just been more open to doing things. I was always trying to figure out the "right" time to do things; there is no "right time" - just go for it. I'm not talking about being irresponsible or living outside my means - for me, it's been more about being open to choosing to do things that are not easy or normal.

There is an old Chinese proverb that goes... When is the best time to plant a shade tree? When is the second best time?

The answers are: "20 years ago" and "Right now"

That about sums it up.

I can't answer that pole. I contemplate exactly this daily. I did without sleep for much of my life to fish and design flies. I feel asleep in class, at work, at the wheel and even on dates. On more than one occasion I had to let the lady drive us home because I could not keep my eyes open. When I did sleep I would awake to solve some fly tying problem I had been working on. Work, Family, even parties and get togethers were an imposition upon my fishing. I recall taking my first wife to the movies one evening, which in itself was killing me only to have Isonicia drop like so many snow flakes on and around me from a near by river. I could not enjoy the movie and needless to say the woman didn't enjoy the evening. Would I have done it over again differently I don't know. Perhaps I should not have taken on any responsibility what so ever and simply put more into it.
Today I moderate my time, sleep, work, and enjoy family time with my new wife but always the rivers call to me.

Bobby

If you could do it all over again, I would.... run in the opposite direction the first time I met my future Ex wife.
