Cabela's

For those of you within driving distance, Cabela's will be constructing a superstore in East Hartford, CT. From what I have heard from those individuals who have visited Cabela's stores elsewhere, it would be well worth the trip. Construction is supposed to start shortlty and will take a year to complete.

I hear from a very good source that Cabela's is looking at the property next to the DOT turnpikes shed in Hookset. The spot is a is next to the toll booths. Can anybody confirm? The location would be perfect.

This mat deserve a thread of it's own but I find Cabelas to be the best outdoor store...much better than our own LL Bean who turned yuppie years ago. I still prefer to buy from the small shops but Cabelas is a great store.

on another note, with out getting into the whole local shops v. mail order dealers thread which i sense coming, the cabela's visa offers you a percentage back in cabela's gear on every dollar you spend, this % goes up when you use your card to buy cabela's stuff......worth checking out if you shop there alot

The Connecticut store would be similar in size to the Cabela's retail stores in Kansas City, Kansas and Buda, Texas. Cabela's anticipates the store would be open by fall of 2007.
