Get yourself a 18ft Lund alaskan with a 50HP 2 Stroke, Bow mounted trolling motor and don't look back. I Fished inshore with mine from Maine to RI and mine and never felt the need for anything bigger. Great in fresh water as well. Not a cheap rig but worth it.
The down side is you get wet
I am running a bigger boat now ( 23' Maritime Patriot) only becuse I wanted to take the family fishing with me and chase tuna in the doldrums.

A Lund?? C'mon for fishing in the river Fly Fishing...You are dreaming...lol
There are all sorts of boats.. You can go with a Triumph Skiff 17 Ft 8 ft beam boat motor and trailer 75 hp Yamaha 4 stoke 16995.00. Thats a good deal.
You can spend anywhere between 3000 and 50000.00 I would never go Aluminum. Or and E-tech..

Lowwall, the Alaskan gets rave reviews from everywhere I look, thanks. This early in my life I'd have to get one used. But even then the deals are good for 2000-2003 for the whole shibang, trailer included, I also hear this thing can take a beating...
