After months of organizing and negotiating the NH Fly Casting Championships have been rescheduled for 2006. The major obstacles centered around venue and insurance costs. The costs were so high that the registration fees would be difficult to justify. The plan now is to increase the the number of sponsors in 2006 so that the entrance fees can be kept at reasonable levels, and to widen the market area of participants. We are shooting for a late spring or early summer event. If you have any thoughts on preference of when it should be held I'm open to suggestions. What I did learn this year was September is not the best month for sponsors as most companies are gearing up for the Fly-Fishing Retailer World Trade Expo in Denver.
I will keep all of you posted as I think this event has great merit.

Rick - I have always thought that the weekend before Memorial day would be a good time to have a competition.

I might be way off so pleae forgive me in advance.
I thought this was going to be held at the Deerfield Fair?
I have been gearing up for the event all summer. I am real good at hitting lobster pots..lol.
Let me know if you need any help. I have been known from time to time to raise money.
Mabey we could raise money for a worthy cause and have something to do with individual sponsership.
Anyway, I am will to help if you need any.

The Deerfield event is a different event. I believe that is a distance casting event. This event is a multi station event with both casting and accuracy, and on the water targets. As far as sponsors we are expanding the number of sponsorships and the added time for planning and organizing will allow us to involve more of them. This event will also receive television coverage so you can see it is important to have all in place to make it a go. We are hoping to have 100 competitors the first year.
