Just visited and registered at your new website. It looks great. I hope to be able to contribute to the topics as I do on several of the Maine forums. If anyone has any questions about fishing in Alaska, please feel free to ask.

Welcome to the site!
Since you asked, I have some questions about fishing in Alaska. From a general perspective, how would you measure fishing quality? I really don't know much other than from what you see on TV etc. For example, is fishing based mosly on migratory patterns certain fish adhere to (like Salmon for example)? How much of the fishery is supported by natural reproduction, or in other words what percentage of the fish are wild? Where are you likely to find decent fishing? Does one need to hire a guide, hop on a float plane, into the deep wilderness, or is fishing quality uniformly good, and accessible with a similar amount of effort you would put in here for example?
I realize these are not simple questions, but I'd be interested, as Alaska is on my list of places to visit someday...
