I was wondering since it is the season if anyone would be interested in an egg flyswap. We all know they produce this time of yar and most people fish one on their tandem nymph rigs. PM me or post a reply nd if enough people respond I'll host.

well what are we talking about here... I could be interested... how many flies??? and well the thing that has me hung up a little is that eggs are so easy to tie what are we hoping to see out of the swap?

I started thinking about that after I made the post. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe everyone can pick a particular color pattern or one with or without a veil and so on. Maybe this swap won't work?

This was my first season fishing egg patterns and I've found them incredibly successful. 2 materials: thread and wool, no need to get complicated

Ghost
Thanks for heading up a swap. You are the swap master ( Read the Sticky at the top of the fly tying page).
Here are some fly swap tips:
1)Come up with a number of tyers you want to deal with , 6 is a good number.
2)Set a Deadline for getting the flies in 1 month is about right.
3) List the tyers in the thread as they sign up.
4) PM the tyers your mailing adress, Indicate that they Send All Flies in a container to ship them back in and a Self addressed prepaid Return envelope.
You can count me in for the swap.

Lowwall, I'm going to do a scrambled egg pattern I kind of made up, let me know how you are going to do yours and every one else who signs up do the same so wwe can kind of figure this out.

Count me in, my first swap and eager to get started.
I can handle the egg pattern. Had lots of success with them this past season.

Here is the current lisy of tiers and the patterns they will be tying, if you can't think of a particular egg pattern to tie don't worry about it.

Ghostface----scrambled eggs

cold waters---nuclear egg
NovaOne
Chuckmeister---sucker spawn meth flies
Chappy---eggs over easy
I will contact everyone with my information, as far as a due date I don't think it would take to long tie 6 egg flies so lets say December 8th and that will make 2 weeks, if anyone needs more time let me know and if they all show up before that date thats fine.

I am going to toss it out there since these are such easy flies to tie... do we want to do a dozen? that way we all get two of each.. nothing worse than having just one of the right fly!!
Ghostface
11-28-2009, 09:17 AM
Several members of the swap have asked about tying a dozen so everyone gets 2 each. If everyone would like to tie a dozen instead of six that's fine, don't worry if you have already sent in your six flies though, it's not a big deal.

well just from what i have heard... there at least two of the six of us that would prefer to just stay at 6. so i guess that is what we will do
