Anyone know how the south shore and Cape ponds are looking? Hoping to get down there sometime soon!

guesstimate - I don't think the ice is safe, but the cape has been pounded by the last two snows - including today. With the warm sunny weather forecast for this weekend, it shouldn't take long for the pond surfaces to open.

I heard that 3 wknds ago, Peter's Pond only had ice in the boat ramp area. With all the windy and above freezing weather since then it has to be iced out by now. As bobo mentioned, after this coming wknd, the ponds should be set. ......of course, now we just set ourselves up for a late winter artic freeze up.

Thanks lowwall. Wishful thinking on the early March trout fishing, I know. But looks like it will be an early ice-out this year, which is great.

We have had as many bad days in March as good days.
