This past fall I caught my first flounder on the fly while fishing for stripers Also I caught some little baitfish down in FL busting wich I thought was odd. Actually while in FL I caught a 4' stingray as well. It came out of the school and slammed my little EP fly. Man what a fight that was!
What wierd or unexpected fish did you guys catch?

I also caught a flounder once while fly fishing for stripers at Plum Island!! Couldn't believe it....a legitimate catch, too, not a foul-hook.

My buddy caught an 18" Sturgeon in the Sheepscot River in Maine on a small olive over whit Clouser. We took a quick picture and tossed it back in. It looked prehistoric.

Yeah a good friend of mine was fishing for stripers at night and his buddy caught ad landed a sturgeon that was at least 5', he said it was an amazing fight, luckily he had no idea it was a sturgeon untill he landed it because it is highly ilegal to catch them. At that place early morning striper fishing you see them rocket out of the water about 7' high like torpedos it very cool to see

don't mean to drag this post out of the archives but I also caught a flounder at Hampton Harbor a couple of weeks ago. I was just getting used to my new Teeny line and it was a legit catch. funny, at least I know that line is getting down! :P
