I was wondering if anyone has been fishing TFO rods? Iv heard nice things about them, and the prices are very reasonable. Can anyone share some info, perhaps on the professional series? Thanks

I don't own one, but I have casted a couple. In my opinion, they are great if you want a quality rod with out breaking the bank. If I was getting a new rod, I would strongly consider one.....

My wife bought me a TFO signature series 9ft 8wt for my birthday last year. Well constructed, smooth action. Perfectly balanced. Lefty Kreh has designed a wonderful rod here. I believe it even adds a dozen feet or so to my cast.
My fishing companion tried it out and liked it so well he ordered one straight away.

Damn, I want their 10' for a 5wt. But, alas, finances won't allow right now.

I have cast abunch, fished a couple in heavier weights (7-10 I think), very impressed with the performance and initial build quality. Long term... a buddy who guides down on the gulf has a half dozen as second/third rods on the boat, and with some milage just over a year or so later the build quality begins to raise some concerns... the cork ages particularly quickly.

I have the 6' 2wt TFO. I love it. It is a very fast rod, and I am getting to like something a bit softer, but for that 'occassional use' rod, I would definately recommend it.
I am taking a trip way - way - up North later this year ... I have toyed with the idea of getting a TFO 8 - 9 - 10 weight for Pike.
While the Rod is only 100 bucks ... add a reel, line, tube and ... well ... maybe not ... but, then again ...
decisions, decisions.

If you are in the market atleast look at JP ROSS hand made fly rods out of Utica NY.
They are made to order and are awesome. The most expensive rod is inexpensive.

...and I would HIGHLY recommend Heritage rods. I cast a 4wt at the Marlboro show and a buddy of mine bought one on the spot after seeing how far it cast with no DH. The same quality but half the price as the "big boys". http://castlearms.com/heritage.html

I purchased a TFO TiCr 5 wt 9ft 4 pc last June prior to a trip to Montana and love it. Very fast and added many feet to my cast. It handled 20" rainbows/browns in fast water nicely and still gave me a thrill with fish half the size. Next will be one of their 10' rods to fish stripers/salmon. I orderd it through Feathercraft mated with a Ross reel / SA line. Nice set up, wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
