It looks like I'll be taking my first trip to the Salmon river soon, but from what I hear none of the reels i currently own are up to snuff. Before i go wild and drop a bunch of money on a new reel, i was wondering if anyone knew of a place that sells quality used reels?

I have to agree check ebay.. theres always something on there. You can get some really good deals on reels. If you check and there's nothing your interested in wait an hour and go back.. Sounds kinda like N.E. weather.

Salmon Slayer look for a Tioga by Teiton, for the money this is as good as it gets. Simple and rugged, with a great drag.

I have a 9 wt tioga for Striper fishing. I love it. And it was relativly inexpensive.

Yup, Teton is a great choice for a cost effective, solid reel. I had a #10 LA Specialist that landed a 45# Redfish on a 9wt RPL+ last year about this time off the coast of AL, flawless. Mike Scott (user: mikescottsflyshop ?) used to move a lot of Teton on ebay, and I know a local shop still has a #7 for sale on clearance... think he has an 8wt Ultra legend deeply discounted too... email me if interested, keep the $ in the area man. Flyfish.com has a good for sale forum, have had no problem making civil transactions with folks there. I post there pretty regularly, user: GRN.

Why don't we add a "for sale" here?
