Does or has anyone used a filson strap vest? I've seen them online but not in person. They look interesting. Unfortunatly the 2 NH dealers listed on the filson website are Peterboro outfitters and Hunters. That doesn't help at all. Thanks
Dave

Hunter's shouldn't be an issue. StoneRiver Outfitters bought up their business. Right on Rt 101 in Bedford, say about 15 minutes west of Manchester Airport. About 50 minutes or so right down 93.

I didn't see any Filson at Stone River when I was there a couple of weeks ago. I don't think they picked up all the lines. Actually Hunters didn't stock much if any Filson in recent years. That being said I ordered the strap vest online last night. I don't like buying online I prefer to support local shops even if I pay a little more. Unfortunately It's getting harder and harder to do.

It seems you've been have a real bad time with local fly shops. I'll tell you what I've done . . . I've located a really nice shop that is fairly close to me, North Country Angler in North Conway, and go there on a regular basis. If I need something and don't see it at the shop, I ask if they can order it for me, if they can't I feel free to order from where ever I can get it.

I think to find a really good "local" fly shop it's not a problem to drive a fair distance. For me, a drive of up to an hour is not a problem. Just think of it as a "fishing" trip. :D

Your right about the flies and knowledge, but I can never stay long because of the smoke.

Hi all, I was recenlty in charlies shop. sounds like someone expressed some feelings about the smoke to Charlie... He told me he was shocked.. He had no idea that it bothered customers. He said he was done smoking in the shop and is in the process of cleaning the shop up (paint, open windows, and just general TLC). Guess I will be spending even more money in the old shop. The smoke usually pushed me out before I could really drop some real coin.
