I will fishing the conn. R. the second week of July with a guide and his drift boat. He recomended eastern green drakes in dry and emerger and a free swimming mirco caddis dry. I have learned that e.g.d. are a pale yellow or cream yellow mayfly. Not realy sure about size. I could not find a thing about micro caddis (size or color). Anyone out there with a pattern or two that would be helpfull? I not an expert tyer but can put a fly together that will hold together long enough to catch a few fish.

You can book a float through Lopstick Lodge. Very good outfit!

Let the guide worry about the flies, he'll have plenty and they'll be just what the fish want.
Tall Timber also has an excellent guide for wading or drifting.

Bridgeman,
I highly recommend you refer to Thomas Ames book "Hatch Guide for New England Streams". A very good reference guide to hatches especially for the Conn R.
He recommends sizes 6-8 for the( Eastern )Green Drake. And he has all the receipes in the book.

I will be fishing with Ken Hastings of Osprey Fishing Advetures. I caught his talk at the Pelham show and liked his program very much.
I will pick up the Thomas Ames book for reference. Ken did mention that he had the flies we needed, but I like to roll my own. It adds to the experience. I do belive in the golden rule of guided trips however, (do what the guide tells you to do at all times) and will fish his flies. I hope he finds my feeble attempts worthy of a try.
Thank you all for the information : :D
