what's the name of the river...

That runs along 103 towards Sunapee? Is it the same one that winds around 89 a bit? Anybody fish it?

Probably the Sugar River. There are a couple main branches. One right out of Lake Sunapee that runs down through Newport and another that crosses RT 89 in Grantham and runs through North Newport and on to Claremont. I've caught some real nice fish out of this stem in the FFO section including a 20" rainbow last June. There is a snowmobile path along an old RR line that gives a couple miles of great access to the river.

Actually, I believe the river you're referring to is the Warner River. I hear it's got decent trout fishing in the spring and early summer. Primarily put & take.
