Saw a few spin fisherman working the shores of Spruce Creek, one said he'd caught 4 schoolie-sized stripers in the AM. He also said he caught some orange/rust colored fish that he didn't recognize... any guesses?

I heard or read something recently about someone catching a 28" striper off Rye beach a couple days ago. Didn't get any specifics but I'll be checking out the mouth of the Hampton River this week for sure.

Saw some folks fishing frozen bait at Rye Harbor on Friday. They were fishing the cove where Rye Harbor spills underneath Rte. 1A.
I'm just starting to learn the saltwater fishing scene here in NH and I'll be hoping to learn some at the Salt Water Get Together.
Seeing those folks fishing Friday got me looking forward to it.

Probably a cod, used to catch them fishing early season for Stripers on ocasion. The cod that stay close to shore take on that orange rust color. We called them rock cod when they looked like that. Not sure if that is really what they are called. I do know that they taste just like the ones you catch offshore :D

I know it's not NH, but I got into them pretty good on the back side of Cranes Beach this afternoon. All small, though one 20"er fought great.

Fished Plumb Island on Saturday night. Wind was tough on the casting, but there was no shortage of fish. Mostly on the ocean side, but did pick up a few inside the river. Biggest fish was 26", with plenty of smaller feisty ones.
