In all fairness, powerbait chuckers are people too...

Love wading a beautiful river and seeing a birds nest of 15 pound test in a bush, with a clasp swivel about the size of a jelly bean sporting a snelled #6 circle hook with a dried out hunk of power bait on it... makes me think of Curt Gowdy every time.

Default So. NH Brooks

Yeah, and the most recent F&G Fishing Report names a couple of So. NH Wild Trout managed streams - without even mentioning that they are special regulations (C&R, barbless hooks). Last time I fished one of these, there were TWO hillbilly families fishing with worms - it would be better if they would avoid encouraging these people.

Sorry to say it but NHF&G is driven for the power bait chuckers..... They outnumber fly fishermen by a considerable amount so they come first.

Now now . . . I was born in the mountains of north central VT - in a town of less than 4,000 people. Some might call that a "hillbilly" background . . . but this "hillbilly" was casting a fly rod at age 10 . . . not all "hillbillies" are powerbait-chuckers.

By the same measure, I also married a hillbilly (hometown Wasola, pop. 53 - in Ozark county MO, home of the TV Hillbillies before they moved to Beverly Hills). The metric I prefer is number of original teeth remaining in mouth - there were maybe 12 total, among the lot of them ... there are a number of others that can be used - for women, the beer belly-to-hip ratio multiplied by the number of "tramp stamps" (>0.80 = hillbilly).

Or how high the thong sticks up above the back of their pants. And of course, the dreaded "back boobs" . . .
