Default Eagles On the Wing

Spent the day kayaking at Spoonwood Pond. No fishing unfortunately, wife won't fish and won't tolerate being ignored. So I conducted scientific experiments instead. Hypothesis: bluegills will eat anything that's small, buggy and moves. Conclusions: breadcrumbs (wife's contribution): nope. Dead ants: not unless they see them hit the water. Live black ants flailing around on the surface: eagerly and repeatedly (can you tell I was bored?). Well, it was a beautiful day and the winds were light, just wish I hadn't seen the big hatch going on. Oh, and the baby eagles (we saw 3) at Nubanusit are flying now, but not far from the nest. We also saw the magnificent adult male at close range, it flew about 10 feet over our heads. Too bad we didn't have a camera on board.
