Anything written by Norman Maclean

a favorite quote (from A River Runs Through It)

"In our family, there was no clear line between religion and fly fishing. We lived at the junction of great trout rivers in western Montana, and our father was a Presbyterian minister and a fly fisherman who tied his own flies and taught others. He told us about Christ's disciples being fishermen, and we were left to assume, as my brother and I did, that all first-class fishermen on the Sea of Galilee were fly fishermen and that John, the favorite, was a dry-fly fisherman."

The River Why by David James Duncan, Big Two Hearted River by Ernest Hemingway. I will also second True Love and the Woolly Bugger. Also James Prosac has good books Early love and Brook trout is one. The Snow Fly is also a good book, can't remember the author right now. A River Never Sleeps isn't bad either.

My favorite Maclean quote: "I'd say the Good Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he's been particularly good to me."
